One of the biggest updates on the New Discovery Sport is its optional electrified powertrains. The new model joins the likes of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport PHEVs in terms of Land Rover’s petrol and diesel alternatives.
The New Discovery Sport is available with the following engine choices:
- New 48-volt MHEV
- New 3-cylinder PHEV
- Three and four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine
- Three and four-cylinder Ingenium diesel engine
More Efficient and Thrilling Than Ever
The Discovery Sport is enhanced for every family adventure, embodying Land Rover’s terrific spirit of adventure. Its all-terrain capability benefits from Land Rover’s 71 years of experience in delivering and perfecting the very best on and off-road driving experience.
Thanks to its Premium Transverse Architecture, the New Discovery Sport’s refined capability includes outstanding handling and an RDE2 certified performance in terms of emissions. When travelling below 11mph, the engine will actually shut off when the brakes are applied, before deploying the stored energy to assist the engine under acceleration to reduce fuel consumption.
Additional benefits of the new model’s performance include:
- Innovative Terrain Response 2, ensuring you can drive through rivers, climb mountains and explore many places another SUV could not dream of reaching.
- 20% increase in fuel tank capacity
- All-Wheel Drive
- Active Driveline
A Technologically Advanced and Practical Interior
The world’s most versatile SUV lives up to its name with a spacious 5+2 seating arrangement with a whole host of user-friendly technology and innovative, comfortable design.
Offering spectacular levels of craftsmanship, the New Discovery Sport’s heightened comfort is epitomised by its 24 possible seat configurations, flexible loadspace of up to 1,794-litres and Touch Pro infotainment with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless charging and 4G hotspot.
Behind the wheel of the New Discovery Sport, drivers will benefit from a 50-degree field of vision through the windscreen, a camera above the rear window and ClearSight Ground View technology, which offers a 180-degree virtual view beneath the vehicle onto the touchscreen.
The Discovery Sport is a vehicle that keeps the whole family connected, no matter where the adventure takes you.
Sport by name, sport by nature. The new model’s head-turning aesthetics are headed by a new body that is 13% stiffer than it’s predecessor, equipped with rigidly-mounted subframes to ensure a peaceful, comfortable and soothing driving experience.
The 2020 Discovery Sport borrows design elements from its ever-popular predecessor in the form of its rising beltline and tapered roof, but its visuals have been made increasingly striking with the addition of new signature LED headlamps and a refreshed front grille and bumpers.
