Exciting Jaguar Land Rover Updates From FOS Goodwood 2019

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a key date in the calendar that all keen motorists look forward to, attracting 200,000 people each year and promising the most exciting updates in the auto industry.

As is always the case in the motor industry, all eyes were on Jaguar Land Rover at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed, and the iconic British automaker did not disappoint.

New Land Rover Defender’s First Public Display

Anticipation is at an all-time high for the new Land Rover Defender, which will be an updated version of Land Rover lovers’ most cherished SUV, which has a rich heritage among motorists all around the globe.

The excitement for the new model peaked at its first-ever public display at the festival earlier this month. The 2020 Defender’s Goodwood Festival of Speed appearance was met with high praise from attendees and critics.

The SUV was the first vehicle to venture up Land Rover’s iconic Hillclimb. This was yet another challenge in the New Defender’s demanding pre-production test regime, which has also included field testing in Kenya with wildlife conservation charity Tusk.

The New Defender will arrive in October 2019. For more details on the tough, upcoming model, check out Land Rover’s Guide.

Jaguar XE SV Project 8

Another thrilling model that made its first appearance at Goodwood 2019 was the exhilarating Jaguar XE Special Vehicles Project 8.

Described as “the most extreme performance Jaguar”, the XE SV Project 8 is the latest in a line of projects from Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations, which “creates the ultimate Jaguar vehicles: the fastest, and the most luxurious, incorporating the highest levels of technology.”

It’s safe to say the XE SV Project 8 lived up to its high expectations at the Festival of Speed 2019. Thanks to its 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine, this particular model holds lap records for a production saloon car at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, Dubai Autodrome and Laguna Seca.

Earlier this month at Goodwood 2019, Jaguar demonstrated Project 8’s capabilities on the Hill Climb after showing visitors around the recently updated Jaguar XE.

Jaguar I-PACE

The future is electric. The future is I-PACE. FOS Goodwood attendees this year were able to marvel at the jaw-dropping, all-electric I-PACE e-Trophy, which wowed viewers on the iconic Hill Climb alongside the F-TYPE SVR.

Jaguar F-TYPE SVR

The recently Jaguar F-TYPE SVR unveiled has a roaring top speed of 200mph, and its spectacularly powerful 575PS engine is more than matched by its dynamic design.

The F-TYPE was actually the star of the show at Jaguar’s Drift Track Experience, much to the delight of the event’s attendees.
