D-Max EV & Government Grant Support

What are the Experts Saying About the D-MAX EV?

“Power is supplied by a 66.9kWh battery under the floor, which is good for a WLTP range of 163 miles and can be charged at speeds of up to 50kW for a 20-80% top-up time of one hour.

Importantly, the battery doesn't have a drastic impact on the D-Max's off-road ability, with the EV claiming 210mm of ground clearance and a wading depth of 600mm. It has approach and departure angles of 30.5deg and 24.2deg.

In addition to permanent four-wheel drive, the D-Max EV has a dedicated Rough Terrain Mode for "extreme off-road capability".

While it uses the same ladder chassis as the existing truck, Isuzu has fitted a bespoke de Dion rear suspension system in place of the leaf springs for improved handling.”

We’re excited to announce the arrival of the new 2026 2.2L Isuzu D-Max. Following strong customer demand for a larger engine option, this new 2.2L model delivers enhanced performance while maintaining the reliability and capability the D-Max is known for.

Availability
Orders for the new D-Max opened on 1st April 2026, with vehicles set to begin arriving in the UK from June 2026. Customer deliveries will commence from 1st July 2026, ensuring you won’t have long to wait once your order is placed.

What do the Experts Say About the D-Max?

"As you might expect in something as big as the Isuzu D-Max, there’s enough head, leg and shoulder room for even the burliest of occupants to get comfortable up front. Isuzu gives you four cupholders, a cubby in front of the gear lever and a cubby under the armrest. There’s also a decent glovebox.

The D-Max Double Cab is the one to go for if you often need to take more passengers. It has full-size rear doors and back seats large enough for three average-sized adults to sit across in relative comfort. The backrest is fairly upright and the floor is raised, but it’s similar to most pick-up trucks. The two outer seats are more sculpted and supportive than the rather flat bench in the Ford Ranger.

t’s the boot space – or rather load bed – that’s of most importance to pick-up truck buyers, and with the D-Max there are three lengths (2,290mm, 1,785mm or 1,520mm), which decrease as cab size increases, as they do with the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux. All bed sizes can take a standard pallet lengthways between the wheel-arch intrusions."
