The Isuzu D-Max EV marks a significant advancement in electric utility vehicles, blending robust performance with eco-friendly technology. As Europe's first production electric pick-up, it maintains Isuzu's reputation for durability while introducing zero-emission capabilities. 

Powerful Performance and Engine Specifications

Equipped with a 66.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, the D-Max EV delivers a combined output of 140 kW (188 hp) and 325 Nm of torque through dual motors, 43 kW at the front and 97 kW at the rear. This configuration supports a full-time 4WD system, ensuring exceptional off-road performance. The vehicle boasts a range of 263 km (163 miles) on a single charge, a top speed exceeding 130 km/h, a payload capacity over 1 tonne, and a towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes.

With it still being a proper off-roader you will get:

  • Up to 600 mm water wading
  • 210 mm ground clearance
  • Eco mode and multi-level regen braking

The new Isuzu D-Max EV has been recognised with the “One to Watch” award at the What Van? Awards 2026, highlighting its potential to reshape the pick-up market. Even before its official UK launch in early 2026, the vehicle has generated significant attention as one of the first fully electric pick-ups to deliver true commercial capability. Industry experts have noted that the sector has long needed a capable electric 4×4 workhorse, and the D-Max EV is seen as a strong contender to fill that gap.

Built on the existing D-Max platform, the electric version combines traditional durability with modern zero-emission performance. Designed for real-world use, it also offers strong off-road capability, making it suitable for worksites, rural environments, and everyday commercial tasks.

Electric Capability Without Compromise

Built to be both electric and tough, the D-Max EV also enhances comfort and efficiency. A new De-Dion rear suspension replaces traditional leaf springs, resulting in a quieter, smoother ride and improved handling, particularly when carrying heavy loads. Multi-level regenerative braking and an Eco Mode help maximise its range of up to 263km (WLTP), ensuring you get the most from every charge. When it comes to charging, it’s just as practical, offering up to 11kW AC for a full overnight charge, or 50kW DC rapid charging to take the battery from 20–80% in around an hour.
