What is APP?

An APP (Advanced Payment Plan) is a car finance option mainly available on new or nearly new vehicles, usually up to three months old. The agreement typically runs for one to three years, most commonly three years. Instead of making monthly repayments, you pay a large upfront deposit at the start. This deposit is usually the total price of the vehicle minus the deferred optional final payment, plus any applicable interest.

At the end of the agreement, you have a choice. You can pay the optional final payment to take full ownership of the car, or you can return the vehicle, provided it meets the agreed return conditions. Ownership only transfers to you once the final payment has been made. If the vehicle is returned and does not meet the required conditions, additional charges may apply. The option to settle the agreement or return the vehicle is generally available once during the term.
