Today, we are thrilled to celebrate the success of one of our own, Jacob Moore, who has recently achieved second place in the highly competitive JLR Apprentice of the Year Awards. This is a remarkable accomplishment, and we couldn't be more proud of Jacob's dedication and hard work.

Jacob's Journey with Duckworth Land Rover

Jacob Moore joined Duckworth Land Rover in January 2021, fresh out of De Aston School in Market Rasen. Like many young people stepping into the professional world, Jacob was eager to find a career that offered hands-on experience, opportunities for growth, and a clear pathway to success. Duckworth Land Rover provided him with just that.

Starting as an apprentice, Jacob quickly demonstrated a keen interest in automotive technology. Under the guidance of our expert technicians, he gained invaluable experience working on a range of Land Rover vehicles. His learning journey was further enriched by the week-long training sessions at JLR Academy near Warwick, where he honed his skills and deepened his understanding of the intricate mechanics of Land Rover vehicles.

Achievements and Qualifications

Jacob's commitment to his training and his passion for the automotive industry have been evident from the start. Through hard work and determination, he successfully earned his Land Rover Level 2 Technician qualification. But Jacob didn’t stop there. He also achieved a college City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 – in which he achieved a distinction, and obtained an air conditioning handling license, both showcasing his dedication to becoming a well-rounded and highly skilled technician.

These qualifications are a testament to Jacob's perseverance and his desire to excel in his chosen field. A Day to Remember: The Awards Ceremony

The JLR Apprentice of the Year Awards ceremony was a day filled with excitement and recognition. Held at JLR's head offices, the event was a significant post-COVID gathering that celebrated the accomplishments of apprentices from various fields, ranging from customer-facing roles to body shop technicians.

The day included a factory tour of the British Motor Museum, allowing attendees to explore the rich history of British automotive engineering. Jacob, along with other top-performing apprentices, had the chance to experience the thrill of driving a Jaguar F-Type SVR and navigating a Land Rover Defender around an off-road track. These driving experiences were not only fun but also provided valuable insights into the performance capabilities of these iconic vehicles.

Looking Ahead: Jacob's Future at Duckworth Motor Group

Walking away with a well-deserved award and a £350 Amazon voucher, Jacob’s success at the JLR Apprentice of the Year Awards marks just the beginning of what promises to be a bright future. Jacob has expressed his eagerness to continue his journey with Duckworth Motor Group, aiming to advance his skills further. His next goal is to complete his Level 3 Technician training, which will qualify him as a Diagnostic Technician. Following that, he has his sights set on achieving Level 4, ultimately becoming a Master Technician.
