Goodwood Festival of Speed – Our Review

Our social media executive and all-round car obsessive Owain Rose attended the festival last month, here is what he had to say about it…

“Attending this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed was truly amazing. As a proud member of the Duckworth Land Rover family, I was excited to see Land Rover and Jaguar showcase their latest innovations and heritage. The standout moment for me was getting a close look at the new Camel Trophy Defender. This modern tribute to Land Rover’s famous expedition vehicle captured the spirit of adventure. It featured rugged improvements and references to its iconic yellow design. For fans of the brand’s adventurous legacy, it was a thrilling mix of nostalgia and pride.

Equally impressive was the debut of the Defender OCTA Black. This bold, performance-driven version of the Defender came with sleek design features and enhanced dynamics. It’s clear that Land Rover is pushing limits in both style and performance.

Luxury was front and centre with the Range Rover SV Black, which showcased incredible refinement and presence. Its strong silhouette, coupled with exceptional craftsmanship inside and out, confirmed Range Rover’s top position among luxury SUVs.

Fans of heritage enjoyed a carefully selected display of classic Range Rovers, highlighting the design and engineering journey over the years. It was a rare chance to appreciate the legacy that has influenced today’s models.

The Discovery Tempest was another exciting announcement, hinting at a new approach for the Discovery family, announced together with Discovery Gemini. It looks sleek, modern, and ready for anything. The name itself suggests strong capability for any challenge, inspired by the 35-year heritage and legacy of the brand.

And we can’t forget Jaguar. The unexpected reveal of the Jaguar Type 00, an all-electric grand tourer, caught everyone's attention and sparked discussions. It made a bold statement about Jaguar’s electric future—it's not just coming; it’s arriving with a bang.

Goodwood celebrated both our past achievements and future directions. For those who love innovation, heritage, and the thrill of driving, it was an unforgettable experience."
