Supporting The Toylander Project with The Askefield Project
At Duckworth, our commitment to community goes well beyond selling and servicing vehicles, we’re passionate about supporting local people, organisations and projects that bring people together and make a difference. One such initiative we were proud to be involved with this year was The Toylander project in partnership with The Askefield Project, a fantastic local community farm that offers creative and therapeutic workshops for young people.
The Askefield Project, based near Friskney, runs weekly sessions that enable young people to work together, build confidence, and foster teamwork, all while taking part in hands‑on, meaningful projects. One group of young participants took on the challenge of building a Toylander, a handmade, ride‑on electric mini‑Land Rover inspired by the iconic original Land Rover Series 1.
When the team came to us seeking help with painting the finished Toylander, we were delighted to support. Our expert Bodyshop team at Duckworth Land Rover in Boston carefully painted the Toylander in a classic Land Rover‑inspired finish, bringing this special build to life. The finished vehicle now sits proudly on display in our showroom, a colourful symbol of creativity, collaboration and community spirit.
The Toylander is now being raffled off to raise funds for future Askefield workshops, helping the project continue its important work in supporting young people’s wellbeing and growth. This kind of community‑led initiative is exactly the sort of work we love to be part of at Duckworth, helping nurture local talent, support meaningful causes, and give back in ways that matter.
