Walesby Church
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing exceptional customer service, a member of the Duckworth team recently made a special journey to Walesby, a picturesque village in the Lincolnshire Wolds, to deliver a vehicle to the dedicated volunteers at Walesby Church. What could have been a simple handover became a memorable experience thanks to the remarkable history, scenery, and warm community spirit that surrounds both of Walesby’s much-loved churches: St Mary’s and All Saints’, also known as the Ramblers’ Church.
Upon arriving in the village, our driver was greeted with stunning views of rolling countryside and the peaceful character that makes Walesby such a unique place. After handing over the vehicle, they were invited to learn more about the churches and the important role they play within the local parish. St Mary’s, located at the heart of the village, is known for its welcoming atmosphere and impressive early-20th-century Arts & Crafts design. Its calm interior, memorial windows, and historic features left a lasting impression.
The highlight of the trip, however, was travelling up the hill to visit All Saints’ Church, a landmark known across the region for its incredible panoramic views and rich heritage. Standing high above the village, the Ramblers’ Church attracts walkers from across Lincolnshire, especially those following the Viking Way. Our driver described the visit as both peaceful and inspiring — a chance to connect not just with the building, but with the sense of local pride that keeps it thriving.
Meeting the volunteers, hearing about community events, and seeing first-hand the dedication behind the Walesby Churches Trust made the journey far more than a standard vehicle delivery. It reminded us how important community connections are, and how meaningful it is to support local organisations that preserve Lincolnshire’s heritage.
Duckworth is proud to assist the Walesby community, and our team looks forward to future visits — whether to deliver vehicles, lend support, or simply enjoy the charm of this historic village.
