Wyberton Wombles
At Duckworth, we’re committed to more than great vehicles, we’re committed to supporting the people and places that make our community special. That’s why we’re proud to take part in local initiatives that help protect and improve our environment, bring people together, and make Lincolnshire an even better place to live. One partnership that really reflects this ethos is our involvement with the Wyberton Wombles of Boston Common, a local volunteer group dedicated to keeping our streets, parks and public spaces litter-free.
The Wyberton Wombles are a passionate group of community volunteers who regularly organise litter picks and environmental clean-ups across Wyberton, Kirton and the surrounding area. Their work helps keep our local roads, pathways, rivers, industrial estates and neighbourhoods cleaner, greener and more inviting for everyone, from residents and businesses to visitors and families. Their efforts embody a true spirit of community pride and action.
Recently, members of the Duckworth team, including Chrissy and Lily from Duckworth Boston, joined the Wombles on a litter pick around Avalon Road and the A16, helping to clear litter and make the area more pleasant for everybody who lives, works or travels nearby. It was inspiring to see so many volunteers out giving their time and energy, showing what can be achieved when people come together for a common cause. The Womble team then enjoyed refreshments at our Duckworth Select store on London Road in Kirton.
Supporting local groups like the Wyberton Wombles is part of Duckworth’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and environmental stewardship. We believe that small actions can make a big difference, and we’re proud to stand alongside local volunteers who go above and beyond to protect and enhance our shared spaces.
At Duckworth, we’re not just here to serve our customers, we’re here to support our community too. Together, we can keep our neighbourhoods clean, welcoming and thriving.
